Active Alerts: See What's Happening Right Now, From Any Page

We are excited to announce a new feature for our users - Active Alerts! Up until now, the Alerts page showed you a history of everything that's been sent to you, but there was no quick way to see what's actually happening right now without scrolling back through that history yourself. That changes today.

What's New

A new alert icon now lives in your account header, right next to your notifications bell, and it follows you to every page in your account. It shows a live count of every warning, watch, or advisory currently in effect for your devices and locations - color-coded by severity so the most dangerous alerts always stand out first.

Click it open and you'll see, at a glance:

• Which device or location each alert applies to
• How long until it expires
• A short description of what's happening

And if an alert has been updated - say, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning that's been extended or upgraded - you'll only ever see the latest version. We do the work of following each alert's updates behind the scenes so your dropdown never gets cluttered with outdated information.

Why We Built This

When severe weather is closing in, you shouldn't have to think about where to look for the latest information. Active Alerts is designed to answer one question as fast as possible: what's active for me, right now? Whether you're checking in from the Dashboard, your Devices page, or anywhere else in your account, the answer is always one click away.

Need the full picture? Clicking any alert in the dropdown takes you straight to that alert's full details on your Alerts page - description, instructions, and map, all in one spot.

How It Works

Active Alerts checks in automatically every couple of minutes to keep your dropdown current, and refreshes immediately if you've been away and come back. No setup required - if you have a device or static location with an active alert, it will show up.
